Submission Instructions
- To protect the original artwork, all pieces will need to be submitted virtually so that prints can be made for the exhibit.
- Shipping & Delivery will not be necessary
- Before you start, make sure you have the following: Smartphone with camera, adequate lighting (natural is best), the artwork you want to photograph, & a steady surface
Option 1: Take your own photo- Prepare artwork and environment:
-Choose a well-lit area with natural lighting, if possible. Place your artwork on a flat, clean surface and clear away any distracting objects in the background -Make sure that your camera lens is clean to help ensure a sharp and clean image. You can use a mircofiber cloth or a soft, clean tissue to gently wipe
the camera lens on the back of your phone
- Open up the camera app on your phone
-You'll want to match the camera orientation the same way as your artwork. If your artwork is vertical, hold the camera so it shows vertically. If your artwork is horizontal, turn your phone so your camera can take the photo in Landscape Mode.
-Make sure your flash is turned off
-Move your camera close to the artwork so it takes up the whole screen. Leave a tiny gap around the edge for wiggle room. Make sure that you're not taking your photo at an angle and that there is nothing in the background of your photo.
-When submitting the photo, please make sure that it is in the correct format, preferably a TIFF, but we will also accept JPEG and PNG. -Note on TIFFs: If submitting a TIFF-file, please set the file at 300 DPI for optimal print quality (2400 x 3000 pixels)
Option 2: Take your artwork to a business that will scan it to a TIFF file format for you like Staples, Iron Mountain or another professional scanning service. Please note, these services will have a cost to you.
